Super Mario World Mix

Step 1: Download the Required Files

1. Download the Hack: Click the “Download” button to download the .bps file (ROM hack patch).
2. Obtain a Clean Super Mario World ROM: You will need a legally obtained, clean (unmodified) ROM of Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Note: You must own the original game to legally use the ROM.

Step 2: Download a Patching Tool

• FLIPS (Floating IPS): Download FLIPS here
• Lunar IPS (LIPS): Another option available on most ROM hacking sites.

Step 3: Patch the ROM

1. Open the Patching Tool: Open the FLIPS or LIPS application after downloading.
2. Select “Apply Patch”: In the patching tool, choose “Apply Patch.”
3. Choose the .bps File: Select the Super Mario World Mix Beta V1.2 patch file you downloaded in Step 1.
4. Select the Clean Super Mario World ROM: Navigate to your clean Super Mario World ROM and select it.
5. Create a Patched ROM: The patching tool will create a new, modified ROM that contains the Super Mario World Mix hack. Save it with a new name, like “Super Mario World Mix.smc.”

Step 4: Download an SNES Emulator

• Snes9x (Windows, macOS, Linux): Download Snes9x here
• ZSNES (Windows, Linux): Another reliable option.
• RetroArch (Cross-platform): A multi-system emulator that can run SNES games.

Step 5: Run the Game

1. Open the Emulator: Launch your chosen SNES emulator.
2. Load the ROM: In the emulator, select “Open ROM” or “Load Game” and choose the patched Super Mario World Mix.smc file created in Step 3.
3. Start Playing: Once the ROM is loaded, you’re ready to begin playing Super Mario World Mix Beta V1.2.

Step 1: Understand the Basic Controls

• Experiment: Try out new items in different scenarios. Some power-ups may allow you to fly, throw new projectiles, or even change your form.
• Learn Where Power-Ups Are: Some levels may hide secret power-up blocks, so always be on the lookout for hidden areas.

Step 4: Defeat Classic and New Bosses

• Observe Attack Patterns: Bosses will often have repeated movements or attacks. Learn their patterns and time your jumps or fireballs to hit them during vulnerable moments.
• Use Power-Ups: Make sure to stock up on power-ups before entering boss stages to give yourself an edge in the fight.

Step 5: Collect Coins, Power Stars, and More

• Coins: Collect 100 coins to earn an extra life.
• Power Stars: While Super Mario World Mix may introduce new collectibles, it’s safe to assume you’ll need to gather power-ups and stars to advance in certain areas.
